Polyaspartic coating questions answered
What is polyaspartic floor coating?
It is a fast-curing polymer top coat that protects the floor underneath. We use it over our epoxy flake systems to resist UV, heat and hot tires.
Is polyaspartic better than epoxy?
They do different jobs. Epoxy is the base that bonds to the concrete. Polyaspartic is the protective top coat that handles sun, heat and wear.
Will polyaspartic yellow in the sun?
It is made to stay clear under UV, which is the main reason we use it on flake floors and outdoor areas.
Does polyaspartic resist hot tires?
Yes. It is built to resist hot-tire pickup, so it suits garage floors in Texas heat.
Can polyaspartic go over my existing floor?
Not without prep. We test moisture, diamond grind, repair minor to moderate cracks and vacuum the dust out of the pores first so everything bonds.
Is a polyaspartic floor slippery when wet?
The flake under the top coat gives the surface texture. If you want more grip, we add aggregate on request at no additional charge.
Why use polyaspartic on a patio?
Patios take sun, heat and rain all year. The UV-stable top coat protects the flake color outdoors.
Do you use polyaspartic on metallic floors?
Metallic floors get a urethane top coat. Polyaspartic is our top coat for flake systems.
